Question

A couple of years ago it was easy to find ultra-absorbent cloths for sale. They were advertised as being able to soak up so many litres of liquid, were typically around 300mm x 500mm and yellow in colour.

I remember one I bought having the product name “Plumbers Pal” or the like (I remember this because I used to constantly refer to it as the “plumber’s bum-chum” just to irritate the missus – oh how she laughed every time ).

Now I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’ve tried DIY shops (incl. large B&Q types), tool shops, hardware shops and car accessory shops – no joy

Any ideas ?

TIA

May I ask why you two seem to have a need for many super absorbent towels?

I seen these things last week on one of the Sky home shopping channels CH643 (Wife was just having a browse - honest ). Convincing demonstration - soaked up a litre of coke with 1 rag.

Didn't order any at the time but noted their web-site - tried to order on-line later but couldn't find them on their crappy site.

They probably only got a few dozen products so keep checking back and you may be in luck.

It's called Liquid-Magnet and is 100% viscose and 100% orange in colour. The company is First Choice Products, 2 Hospital Rd, Pontypridd, Mid Glamorgan CF37 4AH. Thats all I know I am afraid.

I have no ties what so ever with this company, just bought 3 of these at a car show 2 yrs ago and kept the original packaging in case I wanted to order more.

Hope this helps and is what you are after.
