Naming Competition : Lifetime Plus Membership and tour of WRC Tech centre
Dear All
I need a name for a new company.
The company is a high level technology, research, development and operational management company.
It specialises in technology which requires vast, complex communications systems, and such things as GPS, Satellite comms, etc.
There is an element of focus on motorsport, but the name should not limit it to this area.
The name needs to be catchy, powerful and simple, and convey an advanced technology based organisation who will get the job done quickly, without fuss, and within budget, etc.
We have gone through hundreds of names which are either rubbish or have already gone.
One of our favourites was Metis, who was a greek godess who presided over all knowledge and wisdom.. but its a bit pretentious, and had already gone.
Another was START (Satellite, Terrestrial And Radio Technologies) but it doesn't say what we do, and has already gone anyway!
If you come up with an idea which is used, we'll arrange for a tour of the WRC Technology research centre in Warwick, and assign you free scoobynet plus lifetime membership.
Thanks in advance.
Simon

thanks comic cuts..
comtech has long gone both as a ltd company and as a domain name.
But would have been perfect, and was infact the very first name we thought of, so you're on the right lines

My favorite word at the moment:-
Epiphany
A suggestion of discovery and realisation.
I wouldn't put anything after the title word. Once your established it would be like:-
"What system do you use?"
"Epiphany"
"Oooo, sweeeeet!"
Or something...

Some good ideas now..
I think I'd rather steer away from "comms" or communications being in the name as we'd rather push "technologies", etc to avoid being type-cast.
I like "Advecto Technologies".. but still not quite there I don't think.
The reason I liked START, was that it is a short, powerful, easy to say name which immediately sounds like "get up and go", "get started", etc.. and has nice branding opportunities like "START Line", "START Clocks", "START Lights", etc.
But it doesn't say what we do.. so Technologies or something which indicates this is probably necessary.
We're getting close i think!!

START (Satellite, Terrestrial And Radio Technologies)
STAR Tech - with a logo closely resembling that of the Federation..... Or, as it's to do with GPS why not take the copyright people on full tilt with STARTreck?
