New washing machine
Would you credit it
we bought a new washing machine on sunday, and it was delivered to the store today, so i trundeled along and collected it with the trailer..
all nicely wraped in polystyrene and plastic, got it home and we lifted into the kitchen, followed the unpacking instructions to the letter, as its a silver unit and dont want to mark it.....
quick check over, looks ok... so then proceeded to install it....
with a fitted kitchen its not easy as we have to feed pipes and cables down the backs of units...
just pushing the thing into place when my Mrs pipes up...
its got a huge dent in it
sure enough when you come to the front and look you can see where a fork from a forklift has pushed the lower sheild in and put a dent in the front
when you look at the packaging you can see the huge chunk of poly thats been punched in.....
rang the shop who passed me onto the supplier (trying to wriggle out)
the supplier was spot on, packaging damaged.. its the retailers fault leave it to me ...
so we get a call from the shop, we need to get it authorised by head office... tommorow and they,ll get a new one out to you ...
but you can use it in the meantime..
i explained that its a fitted unit, and theres no way i,m fitting it for 2 days!!
so wifeys not very happy and ive now got to uninstall it
ho hum

Awwwwwwwwww thats a shame ....
Now, if you were a proper Engineer you would be able to 'pop' it out
I have to say, and it needs saying, you are supposed to be a QUALITY ENGINEER!!!! ...................... why didn't you inspect it thoroughly??
And we all know that you dented it - rattling around in your trailer - !!

thought of popping it out, but its a crease as well, that wont come out...
nope not done on the trailer, securley roped down. and the damage could not be seen, because it was covered in polys and shrinkwrapped.
wasnt until we got it out, and pushed it back...
and quality engineering would have specified packaging that was resistant to forklift damage,
now even you should know that quality engineering starts at the conception phase,
funny how we always get called in to fix what the normal engineers miss
