Tax return

too bloody right.
I've had to fill in a self assessment form for the past 5 years now.
I'm PAYE, I have a mortgage current account - which means all my savings are in my current account and all I do is complete the additional employee form by putting my income and tax paid from my P60 which is information the tax office has given me
Barmy.

I've kept hold of my Abbey National shares now they are Banco Santander, so had to fill in the foreign incoming forms this year - for a massive £5 dividend! As a protest I filled it in on work time so I wasn't generating export revenue for the country for half an hour while I read the notes and worked out on which of the six pages I had to fill the three numbers in. Turned out I owed a whole extra £1 of tax on the dividend!

As I've been a "simple case" for the last few years (I think they're referring to my tax return rather than my intellect!), they have kindly decreed that this year I needn't bother any more.
