£125million??
Would you claim that prize if you were the ONLY one to win??
I don't think I would!!
Your life, and your families lives, would be in danger from criminal gangs - they will kidnap you or your loved ones.
Your whole life would be ruined!
It amazes me the people who do not do the Lottery if it's a pathetic £1million Jackpot ...... but will queue like lemmings if its an amount that will ruin them
Pete
Mind you ................ I could then REALLY waste my money - I could buy Oil at £40 for 4 Litres!!

Looking at previous news articles on BBC news, and it appears they name the jackpot winner???!!!!
Surely that cant be right? Is that in the terms and conditions, or I wonder if you get a choice?
As pslewis says it could potentially be a nightmare if you did win..

Hello
As above, I do the lottery here: http://www.nationallottery.co.uk.
The only downside is you can see how much money you've spent over the years playing!

If I won it, I'd spend the money on naming and exposing all the bad habits of tabloid journalists

Yes that is correct, you cannot remain anonymous for the Euro lottery so that means leaving the country and living in New Zealand as a consequence
If the prize is not won by Friday 10 February, the money will be distributed among any winners in the next winning prize tier in that draw. Sound like a good idea to me.

Appears with the Euromillions they do announce the winners name!!!
So the draw would take place, and the winners name would then me in the media and on the news all over Europe, and even the world!! "Pete S Lewis from Pikeytown, UK wins 125million" etc
You'd have the media chasing you round everywhere you went, people wanting money for "ill sons operation etc" - family members hunted down and pestered

It would be pretty difficuly keeping a £125million win secret!!
Imagine your life ruined because you were greedy?? I suppose it happens over and over again, day after day!

She stayed in the same house, didn't buy expensive things & let the same life that she had before the win. Any spending she would say she got a bonus from work.
And did you never see "At home with the Braithwaits" she kept a £35m Euro Millions win a secret.....for a while.....

Why can't some normal person win it who is intelligent enough to realise the benefits and potential pitfalls of suddenly coming into large sums of money but makes a decent fist of it.

I think they do, but in the UK no-one is interested in watching TV programmes about nice people who win money and distribute it fairly amongst deserving causes.
Hang on - Tiggs, I take back what I said 2 posts above...

No matter what anyone says, I am of the opinion that if there were a sole winner of £125m and their identity revealed on the front pages of the tabloids, their life would be made a misery for the next few years.
As long as you understand this before buying a ticket you can't really complain should you be the lucky bastid who wins
