Lovely aren't they? We get them in our garden along with the Greater Spotted Woodpecker

We have one of these fellas, sometimes two, in the garden most days. Digs big holes in the grass Very shy, though.

You can still contribute - lock cat indoors and watch for an hour or go to a local park

Used to have a yaffle in the tree outside where I used to work - beautiful bird

That's the birds up and tweeting now where I stay.

I'll be taking part in the RSPB survey today - the more people the better as it's an important monitor of changing environmental conditions.

They are lovely looking birds. I was watching one feeding on the ground while parked in Lincolnshire last year.
