CC London - Exasperation!!!
Our company is part of the Automated Fleet Scheme whereby we get charged on useage monthly. Excellent scheme and saves loads of hassle.
Part of it is the ability to apply an ad-hoc charge to a vehicle not already registered for a day.
Yesterday I drove into the CC Zone and last night (21:15) went online into our account to add the ad-hoc charge.
Got a message up saying the system was down, please ring or email. I rang and the fleet department was shut - ring main number. Main number could not enter the charge on our behalf but logged a case number against it and the registration.
Rang fleet today and they do not have the power to either backdate a charge or to cancel a pending PCN. I was advised to wait until the PCN is issued and arrives then enter a written re-presentation against it.
Now call me a cynic but I have had other previously SN threads issues with CC London and once a ticket is issued it becomes a big time consuming effort to get it over-turned.
I have had my car in the congestion zone and not paid a fee. Therefore a PCN will be issued. When I come to fight it they will probably argue that as I drove in and have not paid, then I am liable for the PCN
Also, my vehicle is not currently registered in my name but that of another company. Therefore, the PCN will go to them and they will levy an admin fee on top thats if they don't just pay it then charge me!
So now I have to waste company time/money chasing ensuring that I don't get charged a £50 PCN because their system was down to accept the £7 fee
Damnation!!!
