Talking Mark Oaten - stands down...

... as Lib Dem Home Affairs Spokesman after admitting to an affair with a rent boy.

Souldn't that be 'Homo Affairs' Spokesman then??

Cool

Most likely he took lessons from that former leader of the Liberal party - Jeremy Thorpe. He finally had to step down after he was tried along with a few others for "conspiracy to murder" his gay boyfriend Norman Scott.

The summing up was at once mercilessly and famously satirised by Peter Cook during his performance at The Secret Policeman's Ball in a piece which has become known as Entirely a Matter for You. He famously coined the phrase - "player of the pink oboe"

Anyway it's good to see that the Liberal party are still truly liberal in all senses of the word.

I think they may well regret dumping Charlie boy in the end.

Well he should be a kindred spirit with the Pikey Pink Pantyman then!

Must be a Liberal thing, remember Paddypantsdown?

Whomever wins the leadership, not one of them will push the party forward.

Just a load of dorks IMHO and a vote for them will be a wasted vote come the next general election.

What gets me is that according to the papers he stopped seeing the rent boy when he recognised Mark Oaten. So would he still be at it? He didn't pack it in because of his career or his devotion to to his family .
A real mess, really.

Such a shocking news story though isn't it. I mean, a politician goes to a prostitute. Who's ever heard of such a thing

Talking

Thing is though, it wasn't just a prostitute. It was a rent boy, and he had several 3 in a bed gay sex sessions. This is before he allowed tv cameras into his home for a staged family setting (young daughters and wifey all around the dinner table) at the launch of his leadership bid.

He's dead in the water politics wise. An affair or even a female prossy you'd recover from, but gay threesomes with rent boys, no chance!

Simon Hughes is being questioned now. The "confirmed batchelor" has just had to deny suggestions he's gay also. The Telegraph are having a field day over this today!

This could spell the end for the entire Lib Dem party IMO. Recent events have tarnished their once pristine reputation for good.
