Edit - Interestingly - they seem to have removed it from their listings! Hmm - eBay it is then!

I know everyone thinks the directors cut is better and it makes more out of the implications that Decker is a clone too. But I prefer the original.
Dont' know why. Think I watched it over and over as a kid and then they fiddled with it a bit and I didn't like it as much.
Have both version though

I wonder if it will get re-mastered soon? The version I have (directors cut) only has Dolby Surround, not Dolby Digital 5.1. Would be awesome in DD or better still DTS.

The original cut is the best version of Blade Runner.
Dont epxect it to be released any time soon though! Warner Brothers and the distributers have been in a legal battle with this film for years, hence why the Directors Cut of the film contains the film and nothing more.
The Directors Cut emmited the voice over as it was deemed confusing and contraditory to the storyline. The unicorn dream and the paper unicorn at the end suggest that Deckard to is a replicant. Harrison Ford insists he isnt and longer discusses the film.
The original ending of Blade Runner with Deckard and Racheal driving in the countryside is actually an out take from The Shining.

I was somehow dissapointed when Ridley Scott said in the book about the making of the film that Deckard was a replicant and the 'glowing' eyes when he looks in the mirror tending to his wounds are the real hint.
I always thought the film was more powerful if you posit that Deckard is a human, being outdone in the humanity stakes by the replicants!
It's a powerful message: You are born a human, but humanity isn't a given - it is earned, and can be lost.
Or as the quote at the end of the edit says:
"It's too bad she won't live, but then again, who does?"
Ideally, I'd have the original's commentary, which adds to the atmosphere, but have the ending from the edit.
