Apparantly, they are bringing out a PE60 range which will have the HDMI input. Which the PE50 doesn't.

How come you went with comet mate?
You can get a lot better deal online, or get Jowhn Lewis to price match a store. On the AV Forums they have a thread with people posting their results of doing that. I got John Lewis (you get a free 5 year warrantee with everything electrical from JL) to price match a 42PE50 with ped stand for 1440.
As to the HD ready. The way I looked at it is that it will probably be 5 years or so until HD is the norm, with all programmers being broadcast in it and Sky not charging for an HD box, extra each month etc. By that time, you will probably be able to get a new 42" HD ready Panny plasma for about 5-600 quid - the difference between the price of a 42PE50 and a 42PV500. So I'll save that money now and buy an even better HD set in 5 years.

Hey chaps. He's already bought it. He'll not want to hear he could have paid £700 less elsewhere
Like the irony of not having confidence buying over the net then getting something from Comet Only joking mate.

lol- i had a mate who managed a Comet store- he couldnt understand how anyone could buy anything other than a scart lead from them when it's all cheaper online!
I think Comet dont really understand why they are still in business!
http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/ca...NIC%20TH42PE50
lol- online from comet at £1400......CANCEL that order!

Not necessarily true. I bought a 32" LCD TV for my brother from comet just before xmas and the price I paid then is still cheaper than anywhere online.
Just do a bit of haggling with them.Sometimes theyll drop , other times they wont.

You can easily get that for 1300 pounds or less on-line - can't see Comet knocking 400 pounds off.
