Píssy, at your supposed age I'd seriously consider nothing but an electrically operated bed. Had mine for 6 years and it's great. *It* gets *you* up in the mornings.

Pete,
I went through the entire range in a well known bed shop and the salesman who was the owner and manager of the store compared the beds available to cars as it was the only yhting I understood.
I settled on a jaguar, but I asked if there was a better option. Each time I tried something better it ended up being my preferred choice.
I ended up with a bentley. The make was called harrison and it had 1940 individual pocket springs.
With a 40% discount for being my client the mattress cost me £1500 and to this day remains the best thing I have chosen to spend my money on.

Last year I bought an expensive mattress for our double bed to replace the 10 year old one .................... best money I have spent as well - my bad back disappeared over a few days
Sleeping well is so important .........................
We are about to do-up the main bedroom and wifey wants a king sized bed so she doesn't have to touch me anymore ............ I blame the hotels that we have stayed at, they have had King size and she loves them!!

One of the guys at work bought a new bed recently and is amazed at how good it is. He says the only problem with it is that he has to share it with his wife
They usually buy the best of the best so I will ask him the details when I go back to work on Tuesday.

Inner wisdom comfort care postrapedic latex memory foam gets my vote Pete. Sleep like baby now, although it's very supportive it's still comfy and as with any of the memory foam beds it's heat reactive so that it supports your body where you need it.
Had a really bad back and neck prior to buying it and now all OK.
For anyone buying a new bed that has a diagnosed back / neck problem (or documented history with your GP), did you know you can claim the VAT back off the goverment??
For a decent quality memory foam you will be looking around £600 - £700 +, most come with 10 years guarantee minimum.
