Update on my credit card fraud
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthrea...ht=credit+card
Ive received a letter off the bank (HSBC) saying they need to speak to me urgently otherwise i dont get my money back. I got through to an english person for a change! But then when my claim was dealt with i got a foreigner!
She waffled on for a bit and kept on asking me if i was sure that i didnt spend the £700 on my card, when i finally convinced her she said i would get the money put back into my account within 3-5 days.
She asked if i was prepared to prosecute the people that took the money, i said yes. Was this a good idea?

I know it sounds like a silly question, but i wasnt sure if this would end up costing me the best part of the money ive got back, or if its my right as a consumer and the bank will fit the costs?

Its a criminal acts mate once the cops are involved the tax payer picks up the tab.
But the bank need your authority to get the police involved. The bank may also use it as a trick question, as in who was the fraud perpitrated by, you wouldn't want yourself prosecuted now or your other half if either of you did it. (not an acusation, just an example)

Yup, pretty standard questions.
I was lucky when I had my card cloned in an atm, the first time the clone was used, I was at home on my land line to my parents, 50 miles away from the transaction.
But its for the bank to prove you made the transaction, not for you to prove you didn't.
