Default Glaze on tiles...

[blatantly disregards DIY tumbleweed forum]

My kitchen floor tiles that were already in the house, are glazed, and apart from looking ****e they are absolutely LETHAL when they get water on them. At this moment I don't have the time, money, or inclination to change them, and I can fire some carpet tiles over the top as a stop gap if needs be, but before I do, is there any way I can rough up the glaze, to :

A) take the horrible shine off them, and
B) render them less deadly when walked on with wet shoes?

Will some industrial wet&dry paper do it?

I'm with Brendan

Get some non-slip matt finish floor lacquer / coating from an industrial supply shop or similair.
