Is technology advancing too quickly?
Ever have trouble setting up the video recorder to record a television programme you want to watch? Or Sky Plus, or a DVD Recorder?
Despite being a bit of a geek, I think man's ability to create technological things is outpacing his ability to understand how to operate them. Anyway, I was out in the garden earlier last year and a neighbour's wife was sunning herself and we got to talking. I told her my housemate had rung and wanted me to record a programme at three o'clock and I could not get the recorder set up properly. She said it is not so hard to do if you know how and offered to set it up for me. She did and she will never know how much I appreciated it. She tried to show me just what to do but I guess I am a slow learner.
Anyway, in desperation I said, why don't I call you to do it for me next time and then I will know it is done right. She laughed and said, "Anytime".
You know, since last summer she has come over and programmed my recorder at least twenty times and she never complains.
I think I will buy her something nice to say thank you.

Hahah, actually when I was about 16 my mate's mum did something very similar - putting a video in or somthing, except she was in a silky night-gown thing. Dirty sl4g
