Jim Carey signed, and will play the rest of the season to give the others a chance .
And if, nearing the end of the transfer window, their supposed title challengers haven't made up any ground, we'll probably put a bid in for Bruce Forsyth too

Such a great idea to oppress current/future England talent, don't you think?

The way I see it, Chelsea didn't need to bring in SWP (his lack of games suggests this - 6 starts in the league?), as their squad depth is second to none. It appears that they spent £21M to ensure his services wouldn't be available to anyone else, and they're not happy to loan him out.
Also, is Wayne Bridge still injured? Or is he overlooked in favour of Del Horno?
Cris - I didn't once mention Lampard or Terry. Can you honestly tell me that SWP made the right move (for his career) by joining Chelsea?

As for was it a right move for him, thats for him to say.
As a Chelsea fan, all I can say is that having two world class players for each position on the pitch, means one player out, one just as good takes his place = 13 points clear at the top of the Premiership, thats all that matters
Wayne Bridge has also been injured, long term, but is nearing full fitness soon
Bridge did play for England recently, before he had got back in the Chelsea team, so its not done his career any harm.

Robben and Duff both play on the left and Duff is injured anyhow IIRC....
SWP is second choice on the right behind Cole which is understandable as Id suggest Cole suits Chelseas style better.
IMO SWP's messed up moving to Chelsea but that was his choice, he saw the pound signs and moved on.
Bridge = **** IMO left footed player who can't cross a ball with it. always makes the good runs then pulls back inside. Poor.

Personally, I'd like to see him go out on loan, to see what he can accomplish elsewhere. It certainly wouldn't do his world cup preparation any harm.
