Question The Pill - When doesn't it work?

Had a strange conversation over the bar yesterday. One of the regulars was telling me that his other half thinks she's pregnant.

His other half has suddenly switched positions from not wanting to get married and not wanting children to saying she'd love to marry him and she thinks he'd make a great dad.

Apparently the pill has failed due to her being ill earlier this month. Can this actually happen? Or is she just trying to cover up that she forgot to take it?

I gave him all the advice I could in that situation - I told him to join me for a session on Friday night.

Being the nice guy that I am, I've already checked the spirit store for a bottle of gin, a rusty coat hanger from the cloak room and shown him where the stairs to the cellar are.

Anyway, is she pulling his plonker? Has she been up to something she shouldn't have been? Can this really happen due to someone just being a bit under the weather? Any advice you have, I shall pass on when I join him to drown his sorrows/share his good fortune.

Hello

The pill can be effected by any kind of liquid loss (use your imagination!). So if one is ill, they should use a condom until their next period.

If she ws been physically ill i.e throwing up, then she could have vomited the pill back up before it had been absorbed into the body.

Joining up for another drink was the best advice for sure!

Hyperactivity in bed can nullify the beneficial affects of the pill also.

Hello

I can spell diarrhoea, well with the help of a dictionary, but that doesn't encompass projectile vomiting which also will effect the successful working of the Pill.

Spoke with my afore mentioned mate. The bint dragged him away, told him that she's leaving and that she'll never bother him again. - although she would not say wether or not she would keep the kid. He retalliated by telling her if she dobbed him into the CSA he'd f@ck off abroad (can't fault him).

F*ck knows what to advise him with now....
Although I'll take a few drinks with him on Sunday.

It's only 99% effective; and along with these other factors it is very likely she is telling the truth. Once a girl falls pregnant it can change her outlook on her future in the blink of an eye.

How the hell do you think I got mines

Pill is only as good as the users.

Me and bird used it solidly for two glorious 'free for all' years. Now, its like pumping in a wet old potato sack.

Femidom is the answer - cause its totally the birds responsibility to change the bin liner and not spill the contents .........only kidding ladies

Never trust the pill to work, even if you take it religiously it can still fail. Sounds like your mates girlfriend is a bit confused, maybe she has slept with someone else and suddenly tried to make it work with your mate but because of his reaction she maybe felling guilty and thats why shes left.

The injection is the safest method, a jab every three months, no periods which means sex all year round

LOL that reminds me of a note passed on from a teacher that was doing the rounds a couple of years back. It was from a parent to excuse their child from school.

"Dear Miss xxxxx please excuse Timmy from school as he has diarrho....*crossed out* dehirooea *crossed out* dihorea *crossed out*....the ****s!!

Regards, Mrs xxxxx

In answer to the question, yes, the pill can fail for reasons other than simply forgetting to take it. Antibiotics are culprits, so is some medication that you'd never suspect such as Antifungal creams e.g. for athletes foot Also, if the lady concerened is sick shortly after the medication or has *ahem* the ****s then this can also affect its effectiveness. Put simply, if in doubt, double up for 7 days after.

I'm afriad that, even taken properly, there will be some people for whom it will just not work effectively, some couples are just very fertile and the little buggers find a way.

If you want to sleep easy, its only really safe to double up..

Or as Ricky Gervais once said of a teachers advice on family planning:

"Remember lads, a fish supper's nice covered in Daddy's sauce, but remember: keep the safety catch on, or aim high."

"We said, sir, what are you talking about", he replied.

"When you actually get to **** a bird, use a johnny or give her a pearl necklace"

"A pearl what?!?!?!"

"COME ON HER **** YOU DIVS!!!"

Ricky was so much funnier when he was let loose on the 11 oclock show!
