ipod help!!!
Hi all got a problem
Got an ipod nano and have tunes on it, got a dodgy battery and the pc will not recognise it. Hence, many of the tunes are from a friends pc so i have not 'bought them' and i am worried about sending it back because i dont know where my mate had the tunes from.
I am unable to access it to delete them. Will apple be able to tell what/where the tunes are from that are on it? i dont want a fine or something because of these tunes.
please help anyone!!!

we are an apple reseller and all repair centres, resellers etc, will fix your ipod with no questions asked. same principle on hard drives (as that is what it is), as your data is covered by the data protection act, your privacy rights and our commitment to the customer. which all means that we will not question the content of the data.
also how do we know that your songs have been "cough" downloaded? and not your own..
dont worry , get it fixed and relax.
(just remember to delete any suspect files ) or dont do a matthew kelly

depends on where you bought it from, dealer, private, refurb store etc
if you bought it from a store, retail, dealer that delas in second hand then there should be a warranty form with it.
if private you need to try and get the warranty form off the seller. the point is you need to checvk wether it has been regsitered on apple's website. if it has, then it is a PITA to change the details but do-able.
also remember on any warranty claims, you need to prove the original receipt.
but if you can do all that, then extending the warranty is easy. just register the product with apple's site and there is an option to extend. all on apple's support web section.

thanks tony
have had apple send me a box to send off for repair, just couldnt get my head around how they see songs as being 'dodgy' or not. My mate has that many songs, we all use his pc for a source of tunes that we all collect & share, hence do not know where half are from. Making me wonder can i get done for these tunes, nbot knowing their source. Many are dj songs because 2 of my mates are, so they record them as they play their sets etc.
Will think about sending it back, still not sure though
