Yes. Other half is a sales exec for a stationery and toys company and get LOADS of samples for work. More than he can fit in the boot of his car.
I am sure you can get it at any toyshop.
Thanks Dr Hu

hedgehog - toys R us had it a couple of months ago. stuff does my head in - how can it be so malleable but still be bouncy. It can be one or the other, but to be both it has to be the opposite to itself
p.s. scuse the spooling - pre chrimbo party party this evening - yuo know it been a hard session when you give up ater 4 hours and still go for a kebab

Slightly different name but the same stuff i think. Quite expensive though considering that you can get it in bulk in the USA for next to nothing but i can't find anyone in the UK doing it in bulk.

Maybe we could get a man to throw it off one of those tall buildings they have in the good old USA and launch it in our direction? It might even get here by Xmas. In saying that large quantities of it tend to smash rather than bounce when dropped, unlike a small amount.
But yes, i thought that price was a bit OTT when you see the bulk prices and the fact that it is a generic chemical compound. I also noticed that you can make your own if you wish, are you safe with chemical experiments?

Yeah, i think in the US it was traditionally $1 per egg.
Dow Corning supply it in 50lb cartons (That's boxes and not funny little characters on the TV) imagine the fun you could have with a carpet and 50lb of the stuff!!
There are sites in the US supplying it for about $16 per lb.
Oh, if you are going to make it yourself then take those kinky boots off, i've seen the photos and they are less than ideal for chemistry experiments. If you get some PVC glue down those you might never get them off. On the other hand.... Hmmmmmmmm.

Don't know if you've sorted this problem yet but this site is most useful for this kind of crisis:
