I would rather walk than purchase a car from Yes Car Credit.

Relatives of my GF bought a people carrier from them and the interest was something silly like 30%. However said relatives have never honoured any single financial contract in their lives so not surprising its gone foot.

Ah, provident financial. What dealings I've had with them. One Monday at about 8pm some bloke knocks on my door and say "Provvy money" to which I reply "Excuse me, do you want something?"

Turns out the GF had borrowed £100 (Yes a poxy £100) after a neighbour said it was a really good idea and she had kept it from me. Needless to say "Provvy money" was politely told to extract himself from my property closely followed by the GF!!!

Sometimes YES actually means NO

I think that BBC documentary was the nail in the coffin

Wouldn't suprise me however, if Provident Financial set up another car finance firm

Yep agreed robbing *******s good riddance! Sure if you are going to take a bigger risk on the finance you need to cover that but their interest rates are a joke coupled with over-priced polished turds of cars!

Hi Chris, the 'meaty goodness' comment made me chuckle as well. I note you have not voted on my Patsy thread yet!

Tufnell: "Loans, I knah naafink abaaat loans, but I do knah ya speak to a specialist."

Specialist: "Hi Phil, this couple are already up to their ears in debt elsewhere, want to borrow a bit of money for a car and to take a holiday, but they have CCJs and a responsible lender would encourage them to pay back what they owe before further borrowing."

Tufnell: "Could you help them?"

Thief: "Yes Phil, we lumped all of it in together then just doubled the period they pay over while tripling their interest rate, all secured against their house. They're in no position to refuse so they'll be paying this off until they retire, or we'll take their home off them. Welcome to the capitalist world Phil - you're being paid your fee for this out of the huge swathes of cash we rob off real desperate people, just like these."

But where are all the people who have no money but MUST have a nearly new car going to go now ?

Yes were a rip off, but when you see the muppets who used to buy from them I cant say I blame them for taking advantage - these people cant afford a car, have loads of debts, cant make the repayments, yet still go out and buy.

I know I'll sound like my parents here, but does anyone actually SAVE UP FOR ANYHING anymore ???? I was so chuffed last year when I paid off the last bit of balance of my credit card, and now have no debts at all - last thing I want to do is go and get more.

Got to agree. A bloke I worked with, was already up to his eyballs in debt, huge mortage, and absolutely mental missus with a 6month old kid not helping (like an episode of coro in your living room...without the TV ), house renovation costs, bills, and was constantly hounding the boss for a sub against his wages early to pay bills.

Yet buys a new widescreen TV, DVD surround, some bloody huge PA speakers and rack amp....topping off with a brand new car on finance.

WTF?

Needless to say, the repo men did well out of him

Actually, I'm feeling rather sorry for the workers of YES now:

The sun reported that part of the reason for the companies downfall was the derrogatory remarks the staff made about their customers behind their backs. For example, one salesman was heard to refer to his clients using such terms as: "Pondlife, Wayne and Waynetta Slob, and DSS Dave"

Such perceptive salesman should not be made redundant!!
