I thought you said the Buggati was a pointless venture of biblical proportions, destined only for people who had too much money to appreciate it ?

What an amazing piece of engineering

Does anyone know how many are being made ??

At a £4.1 million loss per car, it would seriously hurt VW's trading do you not think ?

Don't know about you lot but the whole piece about the "race" made me dizzy. Too much tooing and frowing between the Bugatti and the plane. Also it would have been nice to see Jeremy play around with the car more.
Oh yeh, pitty the Stig didn't get it on the track either!

I'll get mi coat.....

Just shows what VW are capeable of if they put their minds (and money) to it....That's what the Bentely Continental GT should have been IMO (to some extent). Much more bespoke and unique rather than bland a Pheaton in drag (not that the footballers would notice that anyway ).

Its a headline grabber demonstrating VW's engineering excellence, so not really!

Previously I'd thought of the car as being quite ugly, but in some of the shots it looked fantastic - great from the side.

I was not keen on the rear view from photos, but on tv it looked good. Actually the rear reminded me of a Supra.

The car was yummy, but more footage needed.

Annoyed that more time was spent featuring the race it'self than the actual car

I would have liked them to actually show you the speed and acceleration instead of having JC just witter on about it. I expect though that VW had some say in what they could and couldn't do.

What was the point unless The Stig had it on the track???? Just the inane babbling of Clarkeson and the sound of it going past the camera a dozen times.

I though this too - I was waiting for the incar shot of Clarkson, and him saying "ok, Im now going to do a fast standing start from 0-100" or whatever. Wouldve been very interesting to see.

It must have been in the contract

ie dont rag it, dont abuse it & dont slate it.

At £5 million per car then i wouldnt want any of the above

"From a standing start, let a Mclaren F1 accellerate to 120mph, then let the Bugatti go, and it'll still beat the F1 to 200mph" --thats just bloody amasing.

Well if its 2 ton then obviously its 500bhp/ton, which is less than a supercharged atom.....(at 600)

Anyway Id still 'av it!
