Default Buncefield Oil Depot

My windows rattled in MK at about 6:04!

I work near the depot and if its as bad as they say then I won't be able to go to work in Monday. Luckily my family who live in Hemel aren't there. I suspect there will be damage to my work address

That looks pretty serious.

According to the BBC story:
Dave Franklin told BBC News: "We woke up at 0555 GMT. There was a massive loud bang which broke windows above us and to the right. The whole sky just turned orange and black.

"Several other neighbours said they did see a plane go into the depot."

I hope the his neighbours had recently seen a 9/11 documentary and imagined that bit about the plane.

I hope things are ok and no residents near by have been injured.

I really hope it isn't a plane thats been crashed intentionally

To be honest it is all industrial around the depot, the nearest built up area is probably about 1/2 mile, still not a nice experience ever way, the whole house shook!!!!, and at that point i soiled myself

They say it was possibly a gas leak that ignited.

There are probably 15 tanks or more there. The fire service will have their work cut out thats for sure.

People are now queueing for petrol Not sure if it'll be that bad to affect deliveries or whether it'll affect prices.

I live on the far side of Hertfordshire from Hemel, about 25 miles away. We were woken up just after 6am by the whole house shaking. It must be a monster happening (the explosion that is, not your mishap Swen6!!)

I live in Harpenden, just 10 miles away and we herd it. My parents got up as my dad said what was that? They got up could not see anything. came back to bed and noticed that our roof hatch had blown open.

Now you can see the smoke. its quite terrifying.

There is a part time fireman that live two door up of the other side of the road and he zoom off as he must of got a phone call. this was very soon after the explosion.

We live in Sandhurst, Berkshire and **** me did it wake me and the missus up. Thought a truck had crashed out on the main road or something and after checking round the house went back to bed. Just got up to make a cuppa and saw Sky News 24 whilst waiting for the kettle. Bloody hell, I really do hope this is just an accident and nothing intentional.
