Thumbs up HGV Driving Test

Got my HGV theory test tomorrow.

Anyone done it recently, and can offer any advice?

Passed my car test in 86! So never had to do any of this.

Passed mine 20 years ago

Good luck though. When youve passed the actual driving you can class yourself as a real driver then

Assuming you have bought one of the "helper" books which contains the full set of questions that they ask, and you are confident with that, it's a walk in the park. It's (or was) multi choice so you can pretty much narrow it down to 1 or 2 with just common sense. They almost certainly will ask a question about weight / length / braking distances. Either learn them, or make damn sure you know everything else.

Did mine 13 years ago, one thing is for sure, when you pass you will never be out of work. Good luck mate

Cheers guys, I've passed!!

Spent two months reading that bloody book, and they were all just common sense questions.

There were only two technical questions.

Minimum height of an unmarked bridge?

How many driving hours are you allowed in two weeks?

Did get the second one wrong mind!

Just got to learn to drive the bloody things now.

I'd still rather reverse a truck with a 13.6m on that back than the scoob with the little trailer - can't see the damn thing till it's too late.
