Angry Ebay scammers :(

if your looking to buy sat nav via ebay, be carefull,

there are loads up for grabs at the mo from hk , china & ireleand

all have very low start, but on investigation the seller(s) have only 12 feedback

all the purchases / sales are for pennies, and the purchasers all have again only 12 feed abck and most are no longer registered.

if you are going to buy one from this route, make sure you get an established seller..

I noticed this too. Also lots of Laptops, and a few other "usually high price" electrical goods going at silly prices. All from China, Ireland or USA.

Also lots of Ipod Nano's at silly prices from folk with ZERO sales and feedback with a number of bids against them based China and Ireland - are folk that daft. Maybe scammers are buying from scammers - that would be a laugh...

Its a common scam at the moment, you cant sell items with a Buy It Now on the listing until you get feedback of 10, so the scammers set up 10 accounts, all give each other feedback for 1p sales and are set to go listing expensive electrical stuff with BIN - they also do a lot of these as 1 day auctions as it normally takes Ebay longer than that to pull an auction once someone reports it.

If you look at the user names they use to build up the feedback, all are similar and nonsense, not like most real user names.

Half of the featured items on Ebays homepage are scam auctions set up like this.

Not strictly true. If you have a bank account verified for fee payment then you don't require any feedback to sell via BIN's.

Unlikely the scammers do this however.

i know someone who got done out of £500

Thought he'd been sent a second chance offer from the genuine seller, turns out it wasnt from the seller but from the scammers who offered him the item to be paid by western union bank transfer to which he went straight out and did

I have a store on ebay with over 7000 feedback and have also been caught, these people are cleaver. Ireland is used as people steering clear of Asia. You can register an account in any country from anywhere at present.
Just be very careful of too good to be true offers.
