Still, I'm delighted that "Blairs" are now running both parties. It can only be good for the country.

As far as I am aware the electorate DO have a true freedom of choice? Its just that up until now the choice has been "limited" to say the least!

David Cameron was the second best man for the job in my opinion....I think that Ken Clarke would have been better...
...I'd also vote for Jeremy Clarkson for prime minister though

Public school toff .............................. sums up the Tories perfectly!
The Tories now have a leader who can challenge the smoothness and spin of NL - but, they are 8 years too late!!
NL will move onto higher ground and the Tories will be finsished

The only "higher ground" for NL is currently occupied by the BNP

TBH I don't think he is going to impress me much. He's already blabbing on about 'Carbon Neutral' this and that.

TBH the bloke reminds me of an estate agent (nothing personal to any estate agents, just some do have slimey charteristics). Just like blair (although I compare Blair to the Bank manager who collared me to talk about my "finances" after I temporarily deposited £30,000 in my account - rubbing his hands with glee. Money was transferred out the next day
But who cares, if he is just going be used as a PR puppet to the party to get into power - Like TB was (until of late). Then it doesn't matter who is in charge, as long as the right people are behind the front line. Remember NL, yes new front men....but same the old labour fogeys always hovering in the background underming the whole country.

i say give the guy a chance. he's young, normal, a distant relative of Her Maj, not driven by political dogma, can handle paxo and isn't a lawyer - all makes a very refreshing change. he represents a very clear and present danger to labour: it's going to get very dirty.
if he's as good as the packaging indicates - and surrounds himself with capable new people rather than damaged goods - then brown is going to have a very hard time in may 2009. four years is a very long time in politics; if cameron delivers and wins the battle for hearts and minds (particularly in reintroducing the novel idea of actually winning tory seats in wales and scotland), then anything can happen.
if so, my gut feel is that labour will be out at the next election.
if, if, if ... that's a lot of "ifs"...

He is very slimy!
To much of the Blair about him and all this touchy feely stuff WTF? next he will be busy promising to not get rid of all those essential civil servents that NL have employeed.
The only way back was some body who had principles and charisma instead the Tories choose some body with no Principles and the same image as Tony Blair! why vote for David Camron he is just a TB clone!

What the Tories needed was a good old fashoined "doer",someone with substance, then i might vote for them.
Someone like Micheal Hesteltine.

Not a fan of Michael Hesltine or Ken Clark but i agree they need somebody of some conviction (and not a criminal one )
Hague has matured into somebody who seems to know what he wants and would do but they wasted him when he was to young and also as pointed out else where now days with TV what are the chances of electing a bald man!
I still think that Liam Fox could be the future when Camron has shot his bolt and got a kicking at the next election, the people are tired of TB and all the spin i dont think they will vote for a TB clone also if Camron isnt carefull he will split the party with the right of it moving away.

Good move IMO - either Davis, Cameron or Fox would've been good to be honest, and theyre all key figures in the new party now - so good new!
I just hope the UK can cope with seeing out this Labour term - does look bleak tbh with "crash" Gordon borrowing YET MORE money and introducing YET MORE stealth taxes to try and keep things afloat, and keep the unsustainable economic situation going a little longer!

you are joking, hmmm? unless you're into retired europhile corporatists who like big government of course. tarzan hasn't done anything since the westland crisis - except trumpet his support for the euro while simultaneously sounding like jonathan ross's dad.
