The Lottery vs statistics
Have been in a syndicate of about 20 people (on average) at work for 7 years, we pay 2 pounds a week, so in total we have had,
7 years * 52 weeks * 20 people * 2 draws = 14560 goes !
And not won much other than the odd tenner and two small prizes for four numbers, < 100 quid.
Its funny because since I have been in it I have had 5 numbers and won two grand with a ticket I bought myself and so has the lady who runs it.
I would be interested to know how many years we would need to keep playing at the same level to be able to statistically expect either 5 numbers, 5 and the bonus or six numbers, I suspect it may be depressing but at least we will have provided some lottery cash to either be wasted on crap or hoarded for years !

Hello
The odds of winning are about 1 in 54, the odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 14m.
The answer to your question is indefinitely, as each time you play the draw is different.
Sorry!

We use the same numbers but people come and people go so they do change a bit, not that it matters.

Have a read here: http://www.llednulb.demon.co.uk/archive/odds.htm if you want to see how it's worked out, but basically:
Match 6 1 : 13,983,816
Match 5 1 : 55, 492
Match 4 1 : 1,033
Match 3 1 : 57
