DJs: Anyone used Stanton Final Scratch??
Fancy getting a set of decks again & been looking at Stanton Final Scratch 2. Looks nice as I won't have to have half my room full of vinyl again. But does it work, anyone tried it??

Yes it does work- and the good thing is you still have the hands on approach, so you dont feel completely detached as you sometimes can using it.
I certainly prefer it to ableton live!
You do realise you can run it from timecoded cd's as well as the timecoded 12"s if you fancied buying some cdjs instead?

Sounds good, may have to give it a go, now to find a cheap set of direct drives. Maybe some s/h Numarks this time, felt quite nice last time I played on some. No interest in mixing from cds, can't beat the feel of vinyl

Lol mixing cds, blasphemy!
Looks like people are favouring Rane Serato Scratch over FS2 http://www.futureproducers.com/forum...threadid/93945
Anyone given this a go? Gotta be sure before I shell out £500 on some software

Just to bump this, received my copy of Rane Serato Scratch this morning - gorgeous bit of kit, 'feels' identical to mixing on vinyl. So far I'd say it's definitly worth the £400 I paid for it.

Really can't recommend this highly enough, been playing with it for a good few hrs now & tbh it's almost identical to playing on vinyl. I swear if someone just put the records in front of you with no monitor you'd be sure it was traditional vinyl.
I expected a certain amount of lag when you drop the needle across the record while it figures out where it is & starts playing, but in actual fact it starts playing within milliseconds, no noticable lag at all. Seriously impressed with this. If you can afford it (& I've found it for about £350) then I'd definitly buy it. Being able to scratch Mp3s of your mates talking & samples from films is great fun

JayPSC, good choice! Been looking for an mp3 DJing solution for a few months. Serato Scratch kept getting mentioned and I've decided to get it after seeing DJ Yoda use it at Ministry recently.
Where did you see it for £350? A guy on ebay is knocking them out out for £360 at the mo...

Yeah that's the guy I bought it off, kind of pissed me off though that he has NONE in stock, just orders them from the states & gets them sent straight to you. If I'd have wanted one from the US I'd have just ordered it from over there myself. Anyway I've actually found where he orders them from now http://www.jrrshop.com/product_info....oducts_id=3182 £313 from there.

I've had a serato for about a year now, its a awsome bit of kit. The new software version (which is free) is gonna have looping and recording/rippiing tools on as well so even better. I used to have final scratch but it was rubbish!
Re a DJM I would get a 2nd hand one off ebay, I've had a DJM for about 6 years now and its never missed a beat, I've never even had to replace a fader on it!

Actually recorded a mix using Serato today, if anybody wants to hear some dirty Breaks then download it here www.jaypsc.co.uk/music/PSCbreakmix0106.mp3
There ae a couple of weird sound volume glitches but that's not Serato it's the fooked mixer I'm using until I get my Vestax PMC-05pro fixed.

I havent got into all this yet. 1210's all the way for me. all this digital scratching is to tacky. not what its about in my opinion. went to see roger sanchez just before christmas. he had a cd wallet with him and that was it. pressed a few buttons and did little else apartfrom press buttons on his 4 cdjs to make fake sounding noises. want impressed. bring back 4 1210's and a mixer anyday. miles more skillful.

back to the mix, i am about 7 mins in and i have not heard any of the "choppy" noises that i have heard with other mp3 style mixers.
would be nice to have a play with one, can you spin back and scratch properlly with this?

C2forWRX= That is the whole point of this software, it uses real vinyl so you're actually still mixing the traditional way. Working out a hell of a lot cheaper as well, buying all my tracks from www.beatport.com now. No more £6 per vinyl anymore, just paying $1.50-$2 a track.
Micky, yups spinbacks & scratching works perfectly well, I'll do you a short mp3 clip to show you just how good it is.
Edit: Demo here www.jaypsc.co.uk/music/seratodemo.mp3

As I play progressive trance, effects aren't that important to me.
I've also looked at an Ecler NUO-3 - anyone have experience which such?
