Sony 50" WEGA Projector TV - £1k???
Sorry this ground is oft covered, but....I went to an audio dubbing house today and they had a Sony 42" Wega projector TV to monitor the pictures. This I found out after asking if it was a plasma when sat 2 foot under it and 3 foot away!!! Now you woiuld not SEE any picture on my Toshiba projector if you had such a silly viewing angle but the Sony looked greatr.
He says he paid £999 for it in Makro and that you can now get 50" ones there for about the same.
I know LCD HD is the future with progressive scan and all, but can I really turn this down with my telly looking a bit tired at 5 yrs old??? I could write it ogff in 3 and by then there will be HD software about [and at not silly prices/subscriptions...]

I was watching G4's Filter show last night and they were gabbing on about a 70" Sony LCD Rear Projection TV for aprox $7k. Did a little research and you can get it for as low as $4500 which isn't bad. It's 647mm deep, so it's not exactly flat panel, but from what I've read it is rather nice, plus it is HD ready.
So it'd not suprise me if a 50" one was around £1000.
