"The Big One" at Blackpool........
....anyone else been on it?
Jeez, that first drop, where it turns you on your side so you feel as though you are falling out of the cars, before it accelerates away
Scariest one I've been on yet............but not been on any out of the UK

Yeah I've done the Big One, the initial drop takes your breath away.
I went on The Hulk at Universal in Florida. That was quite something - you are fired up the first slope and do a corkscrew at full speed where most rides are just about to start (top of the pic below)
There's another 2/3rd of the ride behind the camera too.
Kraken at SeaWorld was pretty scary too.

Yeah that first drop. Feels like your going to land on the pavement below then it suddenly grips you before you go hurtling down to the first dip.
Been on Megaphobia as well in Oakwood park which is not that fast but very very good.

Hulk is good ....... Mummy not bad ...... Kracken good ....... best one is at Bushe garden though IMHO forget its name but heres a pic. Near vertical drop to start and it hangs you over the edge for 5 secs before releasing you ....
This rickaty thing was good
and the hulk again
I did think I liked roller coasters till I went, then I had to go on them all .....

Big one is not that big anymore in comparitive terms.Try this for size - half as high again, and 20mph faster. It was the tallest when I rode it a few years ago (got the very back seat in a 10pm floodlit ride - awesome ), although has now been overtaken by some new thing that is 420ft tall at the same park - i.e. more than double the big one. Cedar point IMHO is the place to go in the world for roller coasters

Looks pretty good, and it's so linear that it reminds me of a diagram in an old Physics text book explaining how a rollercoaster worked
IMO, The Big One, it's not the drop that scares, it's the half twist to the right as you START to drop, before the accleration kicks in..........you just feel as if you're about to fall out of the damn thing

It's the longest in the world and a bigger first drop than the Big One.

I have been to Florida now 3 times in 2 years and I have never seen that steep rollercoaster when i went to Busch Gardens in Tampa...Is it at the Tampa one or the Sandiego busch Gardens?
The hulk is fantastic, and the krakken at Sea world, i have turned into a right rollercoaster freak since going to Florida 2 years ago for the first time.
I thought the Big One in Blackpool was pretty tame compared to the american rollercoasters, they just seem to put more fear into you when you are waiting to go on them.
Plus when you get off the Hulk in Universal Studios you can pretty much walk straight into the Hard Rock Cafe and have some Long Island Ice Teas(mmmmmm)...
