Upgrading From Sky to Sky + ?
Does anyone know the cheapest way of upgrading to Sky + ?
I am already an existing customer of Sky and pay about £32/month (I have Sky Sports but not the movie channels), but it seems its only cheap if you want to become a new customer
Any advice appreciated.

Or a more serious response...
Apparently there's a "Recommend a friend to Sky+" promotion on at the moment, where the "friend" gets Sky+ for free. I don't know if it's only for new sky customers, as I haven't received my "love hearts" yet.
But apparently, you have to call this number, and say you were recommended by a friend:
0870 1942094
(If they want to know which friend recomended you, tell them, err, me!)

Nope, he's right, I got a padded envelope thru with a tube of love heart sweets and a card that I can give to a "loved one" which will give them free Sky+ and 1/2 price subscription for 3 months.
My dad's tried to upgrade from Sky to Sky+ and they're not having any of it, wanting to charge him £199 to upgrade. When he said he'd cancel his subscription and take out a new one they told him he can't do that as they keep your name for 2 years in which time you can't join as a new subscriber!!

When Sky wouldn't offer me the new customer offer for Sky+ I asked to be put through to cancellations and explained to them I was disgusted and wished to cancel.
Hey presto new customer offer.

Step 1, call sky tell them you are leaving for cable/free view etc
Step 2, they WILL upgrade you to a good package for approx £26 (we got all movies and disney)
Step 3, see a chap in a shoping centre who will upgrade you for £49 (for the 40 hour box nor 20)
Step 4 have it installed but then only pay the discounted price for your package and £10 extra per month for multiroom
works a treat!!

I thought this was a good enough offer so bit his hand off
How many people would just ring up and hand over £259 ? Quite a few I would imagine.

Bit different, but they're coming round on Friday to instal Sky+ and multi-room (i.e. relocate my existing sky box upstairs after it's been replaced by the sky+ onoe) for £50 plus £10 per month.
This is a standard offer they were running (I've got movies and sports etc. already), so maybe I should've pushed them harder with the cancellation threat?

If you want the Sky+ box in the other room and keep the existing Sky box where it is, they can do that too. Apparently you're not supposed to, but it's just a case of swapping cards.

Yeah me too. Share the knowledge people. The Rani, how on earth did you manage that for £15 a month. Is that all you pay or is that on top of your standard subscription???

Slightly OT, but if you want to upgrade from a Sky+ to a Sky+160 box, they don't want to know either, and you have to pay full whack for the 160 box. You think there would be a discount or something as an incentive wouldn't you. So I will upgrade my V2 box to a 250gb hdd drive or something for £70, their loss

i have normal sky with all the movies and sport. Is it a case of just buying a new box and upgrading or do they have to come in and rewire and put a new dish up? thanks in advance.
