Question Ipod in car link

Halfrauds & Carphone Warehouse are advertising an in car set up for an Ipod including fitting for £90 - £150 - Anyone had this done? Any good? I don't really like the holder on view - what with the Origin & the phone, I'm running out of space! Can it be hidden in the glove box? Any info much appreciated.....

Cheers! Steve

I've just ordered one of these for the CSL

If it is compatible you can control the iPod from your head unit, and it will display ID3 info etc on the head unit screen!

Edited to add: yes it can be hidden. You can get a cradle to hold the ipod on show or a simple connector you can run into the glove box to keep the whole thing hidden. (this is what I have opted for)

I've got the same setup as ajm. It's a quality bit of kit, though I now see Halfrauds are doing Alpine head units with an iPod interface for <£200, which seems a bargain compared to the iceLink PLUS, which after all is just an interface to your existing head unit.

Dont forget thats a fitted price too Carl Sorry couldnt resist

Ive just bought a 4GB Nano and used an Blaupunkt Interface to link it to my existing Blaupunkt DAB head unit.

Interface leads are available from £49.99 to £79.99 for most head units from most manufacturers Alpine Sony Pioneer and Kenwood brand interface units are now stocked by most halfords superstores. Weve really jumped on the Ipod Bandwagon properly this year.

Sorry if i sound like an Ad but when you spend 2 days reorganizing the Audio Board to accommodate the new Ipod Display you want to know all your hard work hasnt been for nothing.

Alpine CDA 9855R with ipod interface from E-bay. The interface bit (square grey box) has been hidden behind the dash, and all that is in the glovebox is the cable that connects to the bottom of the ipod,, neat and tidy, sounds fab.

Got a Kenwood and cut a few holes in the back of the forester pocket to accomodate an Ipod mini and Defi controller.

Anyone know the best way to link an ipod using the Alpine Interface and an Alpine CD Multichanger all using Ai-Net? Can the KCA-410C do the job as good as the Alpine ipod unit?
