They ask for e-bay username and password. I understand why, but it would be nice to know they're kosher before giving them a try.

They arent really; you can only be beaten if someone else will pay more: it doesnt matter how close to the auction-end time the sniper places a bid, if it was lower than yours..... If you put your maximum bid in on the last day then an auction sniper will only beat people making pointless incremental bids.

thing is; I have been beaten twice recently in the last 2 seconds of the auction! :X
bloody snipers... both times I was beaten by a POUND before my page refreshed and I could re-bid.. im on 2mb broadband too! :X
