Default Average snowfall in European ski resorts

Fancy a week of skiing with the family between xmas and new year, but I'm struggling to find a site to give me the predicted snowfalls for each resort. Is there anything around like this? Google is just giving me crappy travel agent sites

The Ski Club of Great Britain has that type of information.

You need to become a member.

One word of caution, the depth of snow is not necessarily equivalent to how good the conditions are. In the French resorts the underlying ground if often rocky, so more snow if required to provide adequate cover. In Austria the pistes are often grassy underneath which means less snow if required to provide the same quality of cover.

Try this site.

http://www.snow-forecast.com/

They provide 3 day forecasts free, and they do have some historical data. That said a lot of the high French resorts, that usually open this week, have no snow and have delayed the start of the season. That could change very quickly as a good storm can dump a metre of snow in 24 hours.

Currently Austria looks the best. Of the Austrian resorts Obergurgl looks best at the moment. Anyway there is still plenty of time before the end of December. Hopefully things will improve before then.

Thanks for the links. St Anton in Austria is the current favourite... just need to find something for less than a grand each now!
