Vince McMahon (sp?) must surely take some of the blame for this. When Guerrero was first on WWF/E whatever it is, he was no where near as big as his now steroid injected body is. The pressure to make the wrestlers into these almost comic book physics is surely why half of them die with steroid induced heart attacks

Must admit i have no idea who he was i haven't seen the WWE wrestling in years, but again, as in the 'who was your favourite wrestler' comes the news another one has died around the 40yr old mark with what seems heart failure, very tragic.

Steroid abuse has been associated with cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including heart attacks and strokes, even in athletes younger than 30. Steroids contribute to the development of CVD, partly by changing the levels of lipoproteins that carry cholesterol in the blood. Steroids, particularly the oral types, increase the level of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and decrease the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL). High LDL and low HDL levels increase the risk of atherosclerosis, a condition in which fatty substances are deposited inside arteries and disrupt blood flow. If blood is prevented from reaching the heart, the result can be a heart attack. If blood is prevented from reaching the brain, the result can be a stroke.
Steroids also increase the risk that blood clots will form in blood vessels, potentially disrupting blood flow and damaging the heart muscle so that it does not pump blood effectively.

I'd bet it was due to steroid use.

It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

It's a sad day for wrestling and his family and friends though. RIP Eddie. Thanks for making a lot of wrestling fans very happy.
