Wireless laptop at the SIDC stand, then tap the customers card details directly into the SIDC worldpay website?

you will probably find that you will be able to rent a machine direct from a bank to do this.

go into your local branch and see the manager, I am fairly sure they will have a chip and pin machine that will be enabled to work out in the field with a laptop and an encrypted wireless connection.

might be wrong.

the other option if you didnt want to rent a machine, do what nevatas suggested, and when they want to pay ask them to use nochex. might be just as easy, plus if you rent a machine from the bank you will have more costs, do it that way the person sending the cash gets charged

A friennd has one of these, there ok apart from .....

You cant put it down anywhere / drop it /break it / lose it/ have it stolen because they cost £1000 to replace

They dont work everywhere, poor signal or no mobile signal then this wont work.

Expensive to rent plus expensive costs on top of transaction costs

something like £40 plus VAT per month plus 10p per transaction plus cost of phone call or GPRS etc etc

£40 doesnt sound like much but when you work out when you will actually use it(eg normally only at shows or exhibitions because you already have a real terminal) the cost could work out at £40 per day if only used at one show per month!
