Problem with under floor heating
I'm living in this apartment and the under floor heating has gone down.
I have been advised by maintenance that the tiles /concrete floor - (thats the kitchen and bathroom ) has to come up to fix it !
This is obviously a very disruptive activity .
I don't know about this , but I would think more likely the switch/thermostat is faulty - the heating elements are cast in a screed and cannot be damaged -unless burned out ? The floor has only been down 18 months .
Anybody experienced this sort of failure?

if it is a electrical heating, check the circuit breaker on the main fuse board, then get the heating element/s checked for resistance and continuity before digging up any floor material. A good electrician should know how to do this, also have the thermostat checked for proper function
water based underfloor heating, I would be looking at a valve or pump fault. No flow of water = no heating.
