Default Starfleet (not startrek!)

I am being sad but hear me out it was only £9 from ebay and that aint bad to re live your mispent youth, all 24 hour long episodes of it!!

Do you remember Commander MaKara?

with Her freaky eye that talks!

Her stupid side kick Captin Orion.

You know he sounded like the robot from the Smash potatoe ads.

Capt Orions mate

They all sounded like the robots on the Smash ads!

The X bomber

Cooooool!!!

Then the Gang!

Shiro,Ben Hercules and Lee.

Wahey the big transformer thingy!

Daix thingy majig.

Also not forgeting Dr Ben,Lamia,PPA and that bear thing with glowing eyes!

I spent most of Sunday watching the first three episodes back to back with my son and I must say we both enjoyed every minute, it has aged very very well at least I thought so what with Brian Mays theme tunes and incidental music, making this one of the best muppets in space programs you will ever see! I was 8 when these were first shown back in 1982 and I was very glad that all I could remember about it was still great!

Go Ebay!

oh and a link I found.

I was glued to the TV whenever that was on as a kid. What was the name they had for the special weapon on the X bomber? I keep thinking of X configurator which is something totally different

The Sound is near perfect and the picture has been taken from VHS but still it is very good, I watched it on my plasma that usually rips holes in poor quality discs and it held up very well.

I'm so glad someone else thinks Starfleet rocks!!!

Cheers for the link, I'll be ordering the series on DVD.

EDIT - Don't suppose anyone has the Terrahawks DVD box set? I looked at that too but even on Ebay they were about £50 odd quid.

IIRC Starfleet was different to Gerry Anderson characters because they aren't marrionettes (SP). Starfleet characters are manipulated from the bottom.

Theres a pic of about 5 Japanese guys all holding this masssive X Bomber model they used in the series.

Isn't BOTP the one where during the intro theres some suited up bloke shouting "I want that Attache case!"

Or is that another obscure japanese animation?
