Help with Business Name Required
Afternoon chaps.
After a few ideas here, My bro's starting up on his own as an electrician and is looking for a name for his new business.
Both up us are crap with names, he's called Anthony Turner, and his best idea so far is "Ant the electrician" :S
Anyone think of any good one's please.
Cheers!
Andy

I would agree with some of the comments above - avoid a cheesey name - it doesn't sound professional.
These are good:
Turner Electrics
Turner Electricians (assuming he employs another electrician to work alongside him)
AT Electrics
etc
If he feels the need to say something more, do it with a strap line:
Turner Electrics - "First class and on time"
(off the cuff suggestion - you can do better than this I'm sure)
If it's of interest, as a consumer, my priorities when choosing an electrician (or any tradesman) would be as follows, IN THIS ORDER:
1. Quality workmanship & appropriate qualifications
2. Will turn up to do the job at the time/date promised
3. Reasonable price
Hope this helps,
Rich

Going to be really boring here, but maybe stick with something simple, but states what the company is about ie AT Electrical.
Bonus is that alphabetically people will see it at the top of the Electricians list in Yellow Pages/Phone book etc.
The other thing I'd say is that before you settle on a name, check the names of other Sparkies in your area.... Just in case there's a similar one (I like stating the obvious!)
Good luck to him anyway.

Be sure to check that the obvious internet domain hasn't already gone before you pick a name - type www.aaron-t-aardvark.co.uk (or whatever) into a browser at the very least. If you get someone else's web site, it's probably not a great idea for a name.
Also be sure to register any domains you might want just as soon as you've picked the name; it only costs a few quid and it'll be worth it. A web page with an address & phone number is better than nothing, and you might want to expand it to include pictures, references etc.

I saw a decking company van the other day "Anton Decks."
Made me chuckle and I still remember the name if I were to need any decking done so there's a lot to be said for a witty name rather than just using initials.
