Anyone got a DVD writer?
Is it worth getting a duel layer writer?
I cant seem to find anywhere that sells duel layer blank DVD's?
Also can you make 'backup's of DVD movies on single layer DVD's or are they too small? (ie only 4.7GB, does that mean some films wont copy?)
thanks!

hi pete I have the DL writer and software and havent used it once! I just use it as a normal writer, the discs are still very expensive, you can buy them from here at a reasonable price, I would say its worth getting one as when the price of the discs come down in price its going to be nice getting twice the info on the same size disc
as for the normal discs you can get a film on one but you will have to do a little compression and maybe lose some options, theres some good software on the market if you can get hold of it still, I would suggest dvd x copy gold or platinum if you can get it, as they will allow you to get a full retails disc on a single layer disc with a little compression.

Blank duel-layer disks are a rip-off
I think I'll stick to a single layer writer then - I dont mind having to compress films slightly to get them onto a disk
thanks for the info!
