Red Vodka (Sloeberry) - where to get?
Whilst in Zante a few weeks back I had quite a bit of this. Is basically flavoured vodka and it lovely as a shot or as a short (with coke it tastes like alchoholic cherry coke). Everyone just referred to it as "red vodka".
Any idea where I can pick some up in the UK?
Cheers,
Simon.

You're talking about Sloe Vodka or another variation is Sloe Gin. Sloes are fruit from Hawthorn & you can make it yourself...

I bought a few vodka 20% alcohol bottles in M&S as Chistmas prezzies for ppl recently. It is in a beautiful stilletto shaped bottle.I actually kept a bottle for the guests and opened it to serve it one night. The taste is so horrid, mate!
Its too sugary and too fruity and tastes like sherry(sp.)
But i thought I will let you know where you can get "red" vodka.

I make my own sloe gin and sloe vodka, have done for years. Best to let it age for at least a couple of years and it becomes very smooth. Easy to make, just need to filter it well before bottling it and sealing the corks well to prevent oxidation. Lots of tweaks you can do such as a couple of cloves to add flavour and do it all at once with the sugar added in the first place, as much as you can dissolve in the liquid. only takes about 2-3 months to get the full red colouring.
