Default can someone help me out please...

Hi, just wondering if someone could help me out..

I could do with finding out who owns a car, Its a dark blue vaux vectra V*7*3*5 MEN. It has been parked outside my house for the last 3 weeks and nobody on the street knows where it came from, its been reported to the local plod but they havnt done anything. What i would like to know is the address of the registered keeper so i can write to them and ask them to move it/tell them where it is. We are not sure why it is there as in, has it been stolen and dumped or has it just been dumped, it still has its tax disc and plates so I wouldnt have thought the owner has dumped it as the cars ive seen have usually had these removed so you cant trace the keeper.

Any help would be fantastic, obviously PM the details we dont want their name and adress on here.

Cheers
Chris

Did'nt the plod at least tell you if it was stolen or not ? We've had this sort of problem in the past and the police do indeed at least let you know if the owner is "local".

One officer did inform us that if the offending vehicle is deemed to be causing an obstruction, then something , by law, has to be done about it.

One of life's really annoying phenomenoms.

we told them after it had been there about 10days, and after we asked everyone on the street if they knew anything about it. It wasnt me that rang them but i have been told it was the "we will look into it" type responce and we have heard nothing since. There looks to be no damage to it so i think it unlikely to have been stolen, but you never know.

Why don't you (and some of the stronger neighbours) push it so that it IS causing an obstruction and then get the cops to tow it away?

True! (Might be able to get something done about it though if that IS the case?)

Had similar thing happen to us......some plonker left his broken down car outside our house for several MONTHS, before finally getting a mate to come & help him tow it away!
Local plod totally disinterested & stated they couldn't do anything until tax ran out as car was legally parked!
Worst of it was, car (& I use the term loosely!) was a total sh*theap rust bucket & hand-painted (very, very badly!) in bright purple! (Dead embarrassing!)

Good luck getting it shifted (you'll need it!).

Phone the police back and tell them that you saw some dodgy looking Arabs get out of it and that you think it is strange that it has a strong smell of almonds about it.

Make sure anyone who needs in or out of your street for the next few days has moved before the call and have stocks of food and water in the house :-)

Just push it into the road so cars cannot pass, the police will instruct there contracted car removal firm to tow it away to the impound..Last registered owner will be contacted etc etc..
Thats if you can draw the local pork away from coffee and donuts..
Or slip the tax disc out, vectra,s are easy enough to get into. They will be on it like a fat bridesmaid at a buffet..

But if its parked legally, not blocking the drive and has tax whats the problem ?? Just because you dont want it there isnt reason for the police to move it.

Havin other peopls cars outside your house is a nightmare.
The normal house only has access for 2 cars outside the house if your lucky,,maybe the drive cuts it down to 1.When that space is taken for weeks on end, especially if parking is at a premium in your area, its F***in annoyin!!!

I drove one of those for a (very short) while, and can totally see why someone's just dumped it and walked, even though they weren't anywhere near their house...
