Cool Guitars and amps

Seems to be a few threads on guitars recently so thought I would see what people have and want!

I have recently got back into it though and now I am earning proper money again the desire to buy is getting too much!

Only have an old fender at the moment but it sounds great, and a borrowed marshal 15w amp with a few built in effects that actually sounds really good.

I had to sell lots of my kit when I took up motorcross but I used to have a brutal Laney Toni Iomi custom 100w head and an old 4x12 that couldn't take the power!

My current wants are

Peavy Wolfgang EVH standard or custom in purple or red with a birdsye top and neck

Also like the Ibenez s470 super slim body and very fast neck

Always keep a close eye on ebay and somtimes some great guitars come up,
For example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PEAVEY-VANDENB...QQcmdZViewItem

not a very well known guitar but great to play and a bargain price at the moment

Vox AD30 http://www.voxamps.co.uk/products/va...15vtad30vt.htm
my mate got one of these the other day (30w) and for the cash they are amazing, he got his for under £150 and i am just waiting for them to get some more in!

As you can probably tell I like the old school rock type guitars anyone want to recommend me some more to have a look at! its a slippery slope to an empty current account i think!

AN expensive paperweight at the moment, whilst I rememeber how to play.

Its an 1988 Gibson SG in bad need of restoration, but I do need to get some decent shots of it so I can do a before and after comparison.

It changes depending on mood, but overall the fav is the white "Blackie" on the left. I bought that one on Scoobynet BTW. You can plug it into a can of dogfood, it still sounds great

The JEM looks cool, but sounds orrible Must change them pickups.

A Tom, yes  Incredible guitar, but it doesn't match your "classic" "old school" description does it?

well there are always exeptions!! My mate has a Tom Anderson strat look in turquoise, sounds amazing are they not one of the only truly in tune guitars or something?

Surprised you don't like the jem though? My mates bro has a white one with gold hardware and the pickups are super loud Dimarzio jobs, are these the same as yours? Also I like the scalloped frets, wish i could play like Vai though!

Forgot another old school guitar that i am always looking for and thats a Kramer Barreta, single coil tapped pickup but never seem to see them for sale any more!

Buzz Feiten tuning & all that **** ? Yeah, I can leave it for months, pick it up, blimey, in tune.

Simon, a friend of mine has a Gordon Smith. Fantastic sounding guitar. He played it on a Traynor amp (also British I think ? ) Very very nice

Dunno what's wrong with the JEM. Perhaps not playing like Vai might have something to do with it

I've got a friends 18th next Feb and I know she really wants an electric. She has fallen for a bright yellow fender (just have to find 1 I can afford, then get the guitar signed).

ASny ideas on where to look for a good fender?

He is in Nettledon, http://www.mapquest.co.uk/cgi-bin/ia...9&Find+Map.y=9

there is also http://www.guitarslinger.co.uk who is based in Berkhamsted, Simon in there is very knowledgeable and I think is also a trained luthier.

I haven't used Ray myself but a lot of people in the know have he seems to come highly recommended

that is exactly like my mates, it rocks! lots of cash though!

http://www.vai.com/Machines/guitars1.html - some of Vai's jems - I particularly like the nasty green one with the tree of life inlay

Tried a line6 spider II but it was too much for me, liked the way it had an INSANE setting though!

These Jem 7vwh's are a bit "Elvis", but I don't care - I must have one!

The Flex amp is great, as non-tube amps go, especially when you have the short-board foot controller to select patches etc...

I had a generic strat copy bought for me when I was about 11 along with a tiny praccy amp.

That did me fine and I played on and off for years.

Again I started to earn a bit more money and got into it again, I still can't justify spending mega money on it all so I plumped for an Epiphone SG, MCD10 Marshall praccy amp and a Behringer XV Amp effects pedal thingy (bargain imho).

Hoping to buy a cheapy Aria electro acoustic soon as well as I do play un-amped a lot so it'd be cool, plus I've always wanted one.

As for what I'd really like, amp wise I have no idea, never really been into that as I'm only a bedroom player, but I've always wanted a proper SG. One day....

Bubba, David says,
its a metallic gold, single ply, pickguard, which compliments the montego black finish, which itself contains metallic gold specs,
brown paper "bollocks"
well, that did the job
