Setting up a new business???
A friend of mine and his brother are looking into setting up their own construction business (drylining & suspended ceilings), where do they start? Company name is decided but how do they register it get CIS etc?

in essex there's the TEC (training and enterprise council - i think). might be worth seeing if there's anything similar in your area as i'm sure an organisation like that could either answer the majority of their questions or point them in the right direction.

Also do a google, there are plenty of companies providing "off the shelf" companies. Having the name is all well and good, as long as somebody else doesn't already have it!!

go to a GOOD ACCOUNTANT
that would be the best place to go, should be free consultation for first visit and if they are even half good they should be able to help you setup any type of company.

Personally I would register it as an IBC (offshore) somewhere like Belize. No, honestly, I'm not yanking your chain here. Having it abroad like that means you pay no taxes and have no requirement to submit annual accounts. Google it, there are some good sites on it. I personally have a business set up this way, and its a lot easier to admin than a plc or ltd in this country.
