pulled a muscle in my leg and now it's a big lump, is that bad?
trying to be a kid again by taking up 5 a side footy and while scoring a goal pele would be proud of, i had a little tweak in my inner thigh
this was friday and i spotted i've got a bulge where the pain is saturday and it's still there today.
how long should i rest it (if at all) or is it just one of those no pain no gain things?
not playing for a couple weeks, if it needs to heal is that long enough?

Friend twisted his knee playing footy, went home, woke up next morning with it all massively swollen. Went to hospital and they discovered a bloodclot that needed removing ASAP. He's had to inject himself in the gut with warfarin (rat poison ) to keep the blood thinned and he now has to take tablets/shots whenever he flies.
It might not be that bad for you, but certainly worth getting checked out.

My 24 weeks pregnant wife had a small "scare" last night and we spent 4 hours in A&E watching every tom dick and harry get "free" treatment. Most of them with bugger all wrong with them!
I've never saw so many folk with pathetic limps in one place in all my life!
No wonder the system is bursting at the seams!
I'd love to see the NHS privatised and treatment billed to the patient or their private medical insurers! That'd empty the bloody places!

That really is a particularly stupid statement to make in this context. As a previous poster said, he might have a serious problem that he does not realise at the moment. He is fully entitled to get his doctor to look at it.

If he goes along and it's f**k all he'll get moaned at for wasting the NHS's time.
If he does nothing and dies he'll get bitched about for doing f**k all
You can't win sometimes. You pay your taxes like everyone else, so just go along and get it looked at.

You'd be amazed how most ailments seem to just clear up after a few days

In the few hours I spent in a&e the other night, there were two drug abusers complaining of absesses on their legs.........<euch> Imagine if they were charged for treatment! lol They'd need to cut down on their habit to pay for their treatment!
Bring it on!

Hoskib,
You should be doing the old RICE treatment. Rest Ice Compression Elevation. Any swelling should start to reduce over a few days if you use Ice and Compress the area. You should be icing (not the sugary stuff) for 10-15mins max every hour or two.

swellings gone down a bit but seems to have spread to a larger area, and probably coincidental but it itches most of the time
