Default British Gas - panic stricken?

Just about to change away from the expensive British Gas to Scottish Power after USwitch predicted savings of £170 per year (thats a years free Car Tax!).

Since then, about 3 weeks ago, British Gas has been bombarding me with letters telling me that I am about to jump out of the frying pan and into the burning fires of hell!!

This morning I get a telephone call, trying to do a deal, ................ 1 million customers are leaving them each month, apparently. That is an incredible figure for the general UK public who are the most lethargic of all consumers. I mean? how many muppets still have a BarclayCard? saving the poxy points? when there are cards out there who PAY you 2% in Cash each Xmas on everything you spend?????

Anyway - British Gas - sorry, I'm leaving you

Pete

Wink

Loosing 1 million customers a month!

So I predict they will be bankrupt within a year!!

Or do you think you will have so many problems that you will switch back? When you change gas suppliers just make sure that your central heating cover is still valid as I bet it isn't.

Isn't the price of gas going to rocket regardless of your supplier ? The UK's resources are set to be depleated by 2010 aren't they? From then on we'll be buying it off the likes of Russia, etc...

In other words, whoever you switch to will issue the inevitable hike in prices at some point?

Píssy, I fail to see why you are giving it large when you are admitting to swapping suppliers now? The savings were there for the taking years ago.

I'd also wage a bet that your new provider isn't the cheapest.

Better really late than never I suppose.

If you're implying I'm with British Gas you'd be sorely mistaken!

Not implying diddly ............ just anyone who still are are being taken for a ride!

How much are they pumping into trying to get people to stay? Why not invest that money in lowering prices?

And if they weren't panic stricken they wouldn't chase me ...... I feel about as important and valuable as a plump chicken in Ethiopia!!
