PUK Blocked message

PUK Blocked message
Folks,
Can someone please tell me how the **** I enter A PUK code on a samsung D500 when it just continually says PUK Blocked with the only option being Call SOS?
The O2 operator told me the usual stuff - switch the handset off then on again and it should just ask for a PUK code (which she has given me).
Its my sons phone by the way, and he's driving me flipping crazy asking.
Thanks,
Shaun

Sounds like the "PUK is blocked" (as in you (or your son) has already tried entering the PUK Code three times)) - rather than the PIN Blocked.
Unless things have changed recently you'll need a new Sim .
Check with the o2 tw@t again !

Thought the PUK code belonged to the phone, and not the SIM.
If chaing the sim is going to work, just drop in somebody else's as a test to see if that gets the phone working. I have a strong feeling that this will not help.
I'm just guessing, but your phone could have been blocked by your operator under the misconception that you have stolen it. I believe the message that you are seeing on the screen is the message that you get on a phone that you report stolen, and then the operator locks out.
I have never seen this message first hand (as I am not in the habbit of nicking phones). I think your only port of call will be with O2

I got my phone into this situation when trying to change my pin.
There's an 02 shop local to me, so i popped in, and they sorted it within 2 mins.
Think it belongs to the phone, not the sim.

From a Random website
"PUK stands for Personal Unblocking Key. If you have entered you're PIN code incorrectly 3 times your sim card will be blocked and you will be unable to make and receive calls/texts. You will need to obtain the PUK code from your network provider, or you will need to consult your GSM cell phone manual. Caution: if the PIN code is entered 10 times incorrectly, the card is permantly disabled and the SIM card has to be exchanged."

I gave up speaking to the O2 eejits yesterday, and rang the place which does all our company mobiles.
New sim delivered to me at work within 15 minutes, son's phone now working perfectly with absolutely no thanks to the O2 customer non-service pillocks!

in fact most CSP's have an automated online PUK retrieval.
Just a reminder:
PIN - 3 attempts, then PUK required (from CSP)
PUK - 10 attempts, then new SIM required
