Default Converting CDs to MP3 format

Yo, currently putting all my CDs onto my PC in order to get them onto my Palm that plays MP3s. I have a 512Mb SD card for the Palm but most CD albums are coming in at on average 50-80Mb. I thought I would be able to put 000s of tracks on 512Mb - am I just mistaken or am I missing the point? I am using realplayer to move them from my PC to Palm as MP3 format files.

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks

I asked about this a couple of months ago, or something similar. Trick is to Save As Data File, not Save As Audio File. I was getting 25-odd tracks on a CD-Rom as Audio - I got over 200 as Data.

Reduce the bit rate to about 128 and you should be able to get about 8 or 9 albums on 512MB

yeah, just use windows media and adjust the quality to 128, and change the format to .mp3 appose to .wma, and away you go.

use a ripper program and rip them as wavs, then convert to mp3 (or even better rip them as mp3s directly but not all audio applications will let you rip direct to mp3 )
An example would be:
Use nero to rip them as wavs onto your harddrive, then open nero soundtrax and convert them all as mp3s
