wtf tesco
i expect 9 out of 10 replies here will slate me
is it me but tesco's isn't as cheap as it makes out to be.
is it me but tescos doesn't clearly state the offers properly
just come back from tesco,
and saw an offer for H+S shampoo for men, £2.20, the tag was on the place where only 3 bottles of the item so i took 2 (as its normally £3.95)
saw another offer for fructis hair gel range,
it states any 2 fructis hair styling range for £3.00
so i bought 2, as rrp £2.17
used the self serve till, and the prices was all wrong, but after each item was a *
so i thought i maybe calculated wrong, paid for it and checked the receipt. and the prices were
H+S £3.95 each
Fructis H gel £2.17
went back to check the item,
H+S £2.20 and then smaller writing 250ml bottle, (i admit my mistake for not checking the whole offer)
but what pissed me off was that THAT tag was on the bigger bottle shelf and not the other bit,
checked the Fructis one,
2 for £3.00 all fructis range,
so i went to the cus. serv.
and his answer was
the OFFER was on the items with a YELLOW sticker, and yours was a white STICKER
IT DIDN'T SAY ON IT DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
well never again to tesco
i'll stick to asda and morrisons.
PS. what i love about tescos is they always put a massive banner when they have an item they reckon is cheaper than other supermarkets.
ie item X tescos £1.99 sains. £2.10 morrisons £2.08 BUT those prices are always the same as ASDAS which will say ASDA £1.99

Even if they still refuse to co-operate, don't refuse to shop there. You now know how they operate and can make more informed descisions from today on.

Use marks and spencer, if you pay them extra they will deliver in a range rover, so no-one can tell you don't eat out every evening

I used to work with Tesco and as much as they try and hide it they are behind Asda in the price stakes and quality in most areas.
They are aware of it and do try to better them with offers but I would rather shop at Asda for my day-to-day stuff.

If you want quality then you need to forget about the super markets and get to the local shops, farmers markets and so on. If you want cheap then got to Lidl or Netto or Aldi. If you go to the big boys, you get what you pay for, i.e. too much for sub standard product.

I hate Asda - lots of processed food, the fruit and veg section is fine if you like potatoes, the meat section isn't at all good.
It's cheap, but then sometimes in life you really do get what you pay for. Tesco can and do offer high quality at low prices, and probably offer the best compromise between the two, though for preference I'd always go to a Waitrose. Unfortunately, the nearest one is 15 miles away.

ASDA? Do me a favour!
ASDA?????????
What, that American owned chav's paradise that promised us prices the same as in the USA when Walmart took over? Then quietly dropped the promise, and has kept it's prices close to, the same as, or JUST below all the other supermarkets?
Liars!

All supermarkets are evil.
Take milk for example. Supermarkets put pressure on dairy farmers to increase yield from their cows to reduce costs.
Output from each dairy cow has increased 5 times since 1950....6000 litres per year!!! The cows are kept inside, they look amaciated, and just ill. Is this what you want from your dairy foods?
Just like humans, you only get milk when the mother is 'nursing'. Therefore.....
A continual flow of milk is extracted from the dairy cow only by
subjecting her to yearly pregnancies, the first beginning at around 2
years of age, each lasting nine months. After giving birth she will be
milked for 10 months, but during the third month she will be put in calf.
Only 6-8 weeks after drying out she will give birth again. SO FOR 6-7
MONTHS EACH YEAR SHE IS MILKED WHILST PREGNANT.
As one of 3 million milk-machines in the UK she is likely to be yielding
up an unnatural 6000 litres per year - 5 times as much as a cow in the
1950s. Milked twice, even three times a day, her full udder can weigh the
equivalent of 50 bags of sugar; in extreme cases it may even drag the
floor. Her unique stomach, designed for digesting grass, cannot cope with
the vast quantities needed for such high output so in order to reach
higher yields she is also fed concentrated pellets of imported proteins
and home-grown cereal.

Bar buying a cow myself & milking it naturally then what else can be done, i agree that they are evil but they are a convience
As for the meat & chicken i buy, my local butcher serves that purpose with a delivery every couple of days.

Why dont you lot of lazy shoppers try going to your local farm shops, butchers, greengrocers, bakers etc where the produce is fresher, cheaper and tastes better.
