M4 - Yesterday Spped Cameras
Yesterday i was driving back from Swansea, so that is a long way down the M4, Cruising at around 80mph, on bridges i saw 4 maybe 5 mobile speed camera vans, which all could have done me for going over the limit....
With the Rally just kicking out etc i can see why vans would be out, but you should have seen the people that saw these cameras too late and started panic breaking.. though the rumour is that if you have seen the van and have breaked fast he has already taken your pic! ;o)
Do you not think that on busy motorways like the M4, this could cause some really serious accidents!?!
Plus i have never seen these vans operate on motorways before, it is rather worrying as keeping up with traffic doing between 75-80 is over the limit but not dangerous, yes i am p!ssed off!

It does **** me off that one of the main causes of accidents on motorways is sudden braking, and these revenue vans cause sudden breaking.
There must frequently be accidents caused DIRECTLY by the vans making people panic brake. It really is a joke, purely about making money - NOTHING else.
Stats show speed cameras have no effect on accident rates, and in some cases increase accident rates. Interestingly the stats show that putting a camera in roadworks on motorways results in a SIGNIFICANT increase in accidents, yet they still do it...
