Anyone Sold a House Successfully Online
Attempting to avoid extortionate estate agent fees, anyone had any luck with any of the online sites for selling a house?
Any other ideas?

Estate Agents exist for a reason which is to match buyers to sellers. Selling online may work in specific cases particularly in locations where there is a high turnover of properties so that those looking can see your own board.
However generally buyers do not use google etc to search for a property for sale, therefore don't find your house. If you could get your house listed on one of the big housing sites like Right Move you might have more success.

There was an study in an industry magazine recently which showed that in the current market agents make profit on the commision over .75%. That or under and they don't make a profit.
A client of mine who sold his house by putting a board outside got £450,000. The sale fell through due to chain or something and he reluctantly used an estate agent. He got £490,000
Needless to say he was more than happy to pay his 1% fee.
Estates agents have the ability to market your house to a huge marketplace - thats why they ain't cheap
