If you are not expecting a payment its dodgy. They will want you to reply and give your account details most likely. I'm getting a lot of " Merchant bank transfer" e-mails at the moment and I certainly ain't got a merchant bank account.

Bogus
I have the same - done pretty well - wondered if it could be real until I noticed it had been sent to a mail address at one of my dormant websites - so dormant I have never used it - not for paypay - not for anything.

Being a buyer & seller on ebay & using paypal, I get regular dodgy emails claiming to be from ebay & paypal. Things like - please verify your account details - we need t oconfirm your login details - someone may have used your details, please confirm - etc.
As a previous post said forward [url to spoof@paypal.com /url] or [url spoof@ebay.co.uk /url]. Think the rule is that neither ebay or paypal will send mails asking for this type of information, they may block your account if there was a genuine problem & you would go through the correct process to resolve it. Similarily, paypal wouldn't tell you you had money, you would find this out by checking your account especially if you were expecting a transaction.

You will also find that there is a couple of lines of random text hidden in the mail, using the white font on white background technique. You will never see this on a real email.
I have included the text from my mail below
Cooper contrariety rothschild woodlawn shout kingston educate mckay health colorimeter ironwood implosion toshiba cater caleb philology hepatica buzzard ephraim storyboard demijohn acculturate axon caterpillar dusenberg inflammatory piano couturier descant wolve cessation vacillate benz keyes curtis rubbish cricket triton longtime hitchcock
stunning eh!?

If you get any mails claiming to be from Paypal or ebay or anything for that matter even your bank. Never sign into your account from the link on the email. Just log on as normal through Internet Explorer.
